Bricks of Hope is honored to introduce a new and deeply meaningful recognition: The Billy Award.

 

Named in memory of Billy, a remarkable young boy whose spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him, this award is created to celebrate a Child Life Specialist (CCLS) who brings the same unwavering joy, compassion, and energy that Billy radiated - even in the face of incredible medical challenges.

 

Billy was a spark in every room. A childhood cancer patient, he navigated his journey with laughter, light, and endless enthusiasm. He played hard, smiled often, and reminded us that resilience can come wrapped in joy. Though his time with us was far too short, Billy taught us how to live with purpose and positivity, even in the hardest of days.

 

The Billy Award honors a CCLS who embodies that same spirit. Someone who goes beyond the day-to-day of their role to create real magic in the hospital - offering hope, easing fear, and making the lives of young patients brighter, lighter, and more playful.

 

This is the inaugural year of the Billy Award, and we are proud to recognize those who carry forward a legacy of life lived fully and fiercely, with love and laughter leading the way.
